“Hiring Jordan and Amy was the best decision I made for my birth plan. When I was feeling uncertain about the induction my doctor suggested, Amy walked me through what would happen step-by-step, answering my questions and alleviating my concerns. Having Jordan there for the birth brought me so much relief and satisfaction with the decisions I made during that time. She was with us for almost 24 hours after a night-time cervix thinner started contractions. Things did not go as anticipated -- as they commonly do with births. Jordan talked me through the options and trade-offs, and reassured me during the scary moments. I would *not* have been able to get through hours of contractions medication-free without her help. And she waited on me hand and foot while my partner was getting some much needed rest and my bottom half was numb. She was an amazing coach, teaching me how to push properly and enthusiastically encouraging me for what felt like forever. There was a moment after 4 hours of pushing that the doctor told me they were going to try the vacuum before going to c-section. I immediately felt this flood of panic. But Jordan leaned in close and told me it was going to be okay and that this was the best possible option at that point, and that gave me the energy to push her out at the eleventh hour.”

“It’s difficult for me to not get emotional when I think about how much Amy and Jordan have helped and supported me in the time I’ve known them - they mean THAT much to me. Amy attended the births of both my sons. My first son is an angel who was born still at 22+ weeks gestation, and my second son is here earthside, now 2 months old! “Three weeks ago my husband and I had our first baby. Our journey to parents would not have been the same without Amy and Jordan. I had just entered my third trimester when I started looking to hire a doula. I came across Indiana Birth & Parenting after doing what seemed like hours of research online and instantly fell in love with Amy and Jordan. Their approach to doula care was exactly what we were looking for - honest, empathetic, loving, and direct. Being this was my first pregnancy, I had a ton of questions about it all, as did my husband. Each one was wholeheartedly welcomed and answered with patience and a wealth of knowledge. Taking away the unknown was extremely helpful for us and we have Amy and Jordan to thank for that. Amy was with me during labor and, just as the two of them had done with everything leading up to that day, she made my experience what it was. “When Amy met me at the hospital, she was amazing. She did everything in such a sweet way, requesting a basin for applying cold compresses, talking me through the medical jargon, and finding other ways to soothe me through my labor. Because of the nature of my labor, she didn’t have the opportunity to guide me through different positions and such, but she provided immense emotional support and was frank with me about the reality of it all. I am so grateful for the way she spoke to me about the reality of where my labor was headed and how I could prepare for that. She was amazing and I don’t think I could have gotten through it all without her steadying presence. Once our baby was born, Amy was so good about making sure we were all set and then quietly leaving us to bask in our baby. Throughout it all, Amy was wonderful and it was a true gift to have her there.”
